Emily Patterson

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

I earned both my Masters of Social Work and my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the states of Washington and Michigan. After graduation, I worked in schools both in Michigan and Germany treating children experiencing trauma and developmental difficulties. In 2020, I transitioned to working in private practice, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting adults of all ages (college to post-retirement) through PTSD, attachment-related trauma, family or origin trauma, divorce/break ups, anxiety, depression, and life transitions utilizing trainings I have received in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I am particularly passionate about working with adults, focusing on issues of identity, self-esteem, and spirituality.I believe that healing goes beyond addressing challenges—it is also about rediscovering joy, nurturing connections, and reclaiming a sense of inner safety. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that encourages clients to explore their inner landscapes, cultivate self-compassion, and build resilience.

Outside the therapy room, I find balance through time spent in nature and with loved ones. I enjoy hiking the Pacific Northwest trails with my partner, savoring the perfect cup of coffee, and cheering on my favorite team during football Saturdays. My garden, houseplants, and time with friends remind me daily of the importance of nurturing, care, and playfulness—values I bring into my work with clients.

I am licensed in both the states of Washington and Michigan and able to work with individuals who reside in either state.
